Some outdated movie reviews

Over the first half of the year, the only entertainment I bothered organising were going out to watch movies. Minimal effort required and long amounts of time wasted. Sadly, my taste in movies are becoming TERRIBLE *^* (apart from the time we watched Confessions)

. . .

True Grit, why the hell didn't reviews say LEARN to understand American redneck language before watching. You will be sitting there clueless and missing out on all the jokes they make with their eloquent southerner talk. This story has zero action and the storyline was equivalent in real time to a trek through the middle of nowhere. Should have known from walking into the cinema it was going to turn out badly for us, the room was filled with oldies! I kept on saying (to myself) this will surely pick up in the next half hour... and it didn't.

WTH where was Matt Damon!? He must had decreased a lot of muscle tone for this movie...

The movie was disappointing because it was like watching in real life without the sugarcoating, all the mundane things and horror you go through being a cowboy. A borderline overweight cast with no attractiveness appeal. Only watch if you are a die hard FAN of the first movie...

AND possibly the worst movie I will see this year...
The butcher, the chef and the swordsman

It was so cringe worthy, I shudder typing about it now. The jokes were so lame it could make you handicapped when you walk out of the cinemas. The butcher got WAYYYY too much screen time. He was both so vile and annoying and that his satirical looks only epitomized cheap makeup and wardrobe. The director could probably only afford his payroll(probably acting for free) to fill up most of the movie . The other guy, the chef (Ando Masanobu) was alright so nothing to bitch about there. He looks like a young version of Takeshi Kaneshiro.

Sorry Masanobu, this is not a good movie to diverge out to.

OOooo the similarity!!

The last guy who had a really deep voice (someone play "bad news" on mac's speech recog!) was the only professional looking actor there. He appears killing everyone with a skillful swish~ of his sword, bouts out some vengeful crap and then gets killed... how disappointing. His voice was quite mesmerizing!

Anyway I will not go into the storyline, because your mind would have to go through several seizures before being in par with the movie. The only worthy cinematic in the movie was during the flute playing lady's solo screen time (was she really a whore?).

She's an exotic dancer!

Please China, don't let this embarrassing crap seep into reputable film festivals. Even if it is experimental and can create a niche for the crazy people of our society.

A reviewer said about half the audience walked out 10 minutes into the movie. There was still 20 minutes of the fat butcher to watch until the Takeshi lookalike appears. Any reviewers recommending this movie for other unwitting viewers with disposable incomes and weak reasoning should go hide far away, in shame.

The I went to watch Girl who Kicked the Hornets Nest .. by myself.

Once saw a girl had the 'do and clothes like Lisbeth on the train and wanted to get her autograph and shake her hand and everything but I was too chicken in the end...

Lolol last time it was sooo embarrassing sitting next to couples who were all like hugging each other in the cinema, when the rape scenes were on. Went to watched the film from the corner of the cinema this time... AND it was pretty good. No rape scenes or extreme violence which looked really realistic in the first two movies. It was like watching the process of Ace Attorney in gory action.

**Spoiler** Lisbeth's "admirer" (or two-timing romantic/sexual partner) goes out to dig for evidence to try and prove Lisbeth almost killed her father out of self defense and not because she is psychotic. It turns out her father was part of a secret organisation and she makes a lot of enemies when trying to prove her innocence. LOL enemies her ass, they are just old men who are at the end stage of renal failure... AND that's why they are so dangerous! Who knew her elderly father (and friends) had black belt ninja moves and his super indestructible sasquatch henchman/son (with IQ 70) would follow his every mastermind orders **Spoiler end**

Lastly, a short review on Black Swan~

It was so disturbing!! People who cut their nails with scissors should be abhorred. Also people who said the movie gave then a headache because of the handheld filming should get their eyes checked. It was barely noticeable... Anyway, good movie. Go see it!

Nobody really cares, but it was my bday last week :D
I got a cake from work lol. I ordered it and everything but then I couldn't find it when it was suppose to come in. And then found out a coworker sold my bday cake ;-o !!
But I got an ice cream cake in the end. Yay!! Even though I liked strawberries and cream more =(

Hokkaido milk flavour!

Rotated to most 'attractive' angle

If anyone ever wondered the ice cream to cake ratio:
Surprisingly the entire filling was ice cream and not sponge...
Anyway, time to pig out :D

Au revoir!
