Reincarnation - more proof than UFOs?

Are all people equal when they die?

One of my favourite "FACTUAL" sites had a story about a funeral service for a wealthy lady. She spawned some rich businessmen children too who gave her a funeral service equivalent to a huge State funeral. She was just rich but not political influential or famous but her passing was still a superlative event.

They had people who didn't even know the family being offered a few hundred dollars to attend while carrying a candle for her and show respect for her photo on 2 humongous LCD screens. But anyway, after all that commotion, will her relatives bother visiting her grave in the coming years? And why make death such a spectacular event... does her funeral service make any contributions apart from possible inspiration for copycats and fueling the funeral service industry..?

More importantly, does karma follow you?

There was a book about reincarnation and the theoretical length of time it takes for persons of different stature to complete a cycle (of life) and return to a new cycle. Musicians only took 40 years after death to be reborn again while theorists and scientists took over 400 years... They had no explanation for this nor evidence to back it up. But it was interesting to think so because Mozart said he was a child prodigy at music because his previous lives all contained musical influences.

If you read top 10 article on reincarnation, there seems more proof backed by experiments for reincarnation. while UFOs as always, remains elusive...

Especially interesting is the case of Glenn Ford, who while under hypnosis during the 1960s recalled a past life as a French cavalryman under King Louis XIV.
He only ever took basic French lessons but recalled a past life as a French cavalryman with ease. Further, when recordings of his regression were sent to UCLA for analysis, they discovered that not only was Ford speaking fluent French, but he was speaking the Parisian dialect from the 17th century not heard in over three centuries. Xenoglossia remains one of the more compelling evidences for reincarnation but unfortunately too rare to draw precise conclusions.

A greater extent of case studies for reincarnation focus on children. The reason for this seems to be an increased sensitive to "past life memories". A notable case is 6 year old, James, whose former reincarnation was a WWII fighter pilot. James knew many facts his educated parents didn't, especially details about planes. His memories went to the extent of uncovering his former identity, a pilot who was shot down in WWII during combat.

But as James grew older, his memories faded like other documented children. Explanation for adults rarely having any unique recollections of past life is that we become socially conditioned. Also many of us subconsciously influence reports so documentation becomes inaccurate.

Studies are abundant in India possibly for their greater believe in reincarnation and documentation is more readily acceptable while in other cultures, it would be put down to influence from media.

In India, some people living well below the poverty line and are very isolated because of cast groups. They would be too poor to own a television nor live in a community with much outside influence. So cases are least likely to be from a imprint they saw somewhere else.

But an intriguing case came from a girl born in a prosperous and intellectual family. However her memories went far beyond remembering past places to knowing specific names of all members of her past family. It was from this interview with Dr. Ian Stevenson.

Her memories never faded and her past family even considered her in her former self because it seemed like her memories transferred into a younger body. Most children who remember past memories said by Dr Stevenson were people who died in violent deaths. She died of illness which was relatively peaceful though, compared to being hit with a sharp instrument. Most children remember in vivid detail the last moments of their life especially if it were violent and even carry birthmarks consistent with their past wounds into their new life.

While some people dedicate their whole life finding UFOs, there is already goldmine of information for reincarnation and studies not restricted by some government agency or our primitive technology...

I find reincarnation like physics. There isn't concrete proof, but if you look around, proof does exist... It can explain some phenomenon's like strange phobia cases (water) or people who are extremely different to their family or child prodigies(Mozart). Reincarnation may seem like a loose and silly alternative to fall back on, that it is extremely intangible and prone to imagination. However the religion it came from does have a few thousand years to refine this idea.
But WHY isn't the Dalai Lama invincible :(

Anywho, some people may be hardcore Christians or whatever and start a long constructive argument against reincarnation. But I am borderline atheist at the moment and don't even feel like believing what I've written. However feel feel to express your opinions, unexplainable phobias or memories which seem mundane or violent and very REAL. To be honest the reason I started to write about reincarnation was when I remembered my dreams as a kid which consisted a lot of falling (or jumping) out of tall buildings. Lived on the 2nd floor during that time.. ;o

Anyway have to go off and study.. But am interested in readings of any recounts of your dreams ;)
