Lolita lempicka

Scent should be as important as sight... for first impressions.
People are known to pick scents which resemble their own body odor. Making it easier for us to amplify our own biological makeup and attract the right person ;)
So I bought more perfumes. Also because it is addictive and you can experience different cultures and feelings stirred by the scent...

Why does Lolita Lempicka have such a strange name?
It's the pseudonym for a French designer Josiane Maryse Pividal.

She was initially into designs inspired by fairytale and 18th century fashion but soon fulfilled her childhood fantasy of creating unique bridal dresses fit for a princess. However her unique and bold new clothes line catered mainly for the wealthy and ceased to be a powerful force in the fashion industry. Lol must be stirring another French revolution..

Lolita Lempicka soon after released her own fragrance in the late 1990's and allowing a greater share of the general public to acquaint with her unique style and inspirations.

Like the designer, her fashion creations play on contrast. The result is exquisitely feminine and seductive. The Lolita Lempicka fragrance collection is filled with stark contrasts brought together by subtle nuances.

. . .

"Whilst perhaps not the most well known fashion designer Lolita Lempicka has become more well known for her perfume line and her perfume house is considered to be one of the most successful perfume houses this century."

Her style revolves around splendor and luxury, especially suitable for people who like to think they live in bottled sweetness, like a lolita.

This was a particularly popular perfume 3 years ago. A time before the recession... ;o

I bought the L de Lolita lempicka version. It was such a bargain!

Same place I bought 100ml $25 Harajuku lovers tester bottle =D
(Perfume connection at Market city)

There are four listed on the website, more on sephora:

First Lolita Lempicka (1997)

An enchanting and alluring fragrance that gently balances the sweetness of ivy leaves and aniseed, amarena heart with delicate violet and iris root, and finishes with a smooth hint of exotic licorice and vanilla, vetiver, tonka bean and musk.

Key: Pure, light, and endearing.

L de Lolita Lempicka
L embodies an ancient mariner myth, with the sea for a background and a mermaid for a mistress. The woman who wears it is untamed and precious, free and elusive. The scent itself is a passionate combination of everlasting flower, bitter orange, cinnamon, vanilla and precious woods. And like a treasure recovered from the deep, the aquamarine, heart-like jewel of a bottle is caught in a golden net.

Key: Elusive, free-spirited.
I found this much too powdery for me. I'm a fruit person :D

Si Lolita
Put on an air of Parisian bohemian chic with a touch of little girl whimsy. This spicy-floral Eau de Parfum radiates a secret: its peppery freshness dominates across the fragrance. Spellbinding hints of warm florals emerge, including a light, powdery note of heliotrope.

Key: Spicy, warm, chic.

Fleur de Corail
Fleur de Corail reveals a new kind of femininity: instinctive and original, combining nature and sensuality with the warm, exotic scent of the frangipani blossom. This fragrance plays up contrasts. It's as fresh as a breath of air, yet at the same time it's warm and passionate. A voluptuous and sensual treat, for luxuriously scented skin, this sunny floriental fragrance sparkles like a warm summer breeze, and blossoms into the sunny fullness of exotic flowers.

Key: Ethereal, seductive, innocent

Forbidden Flower
Pure and sensuous accord based on Absinth Flower, a mystery that combines innocence and exhilaration. With Strawberry Leaf and Mimosa Stem, the Absinth Flower accord takes hold and emerges in an invigorating and acidulous pirouette of organic notes. The heart note combines Peony, a radiant flower of wild sensuality, with the powdery abundance of Violet. Aniseed Flower subtly melds with this bouquet of petals and then releases the intoxicating vapors of Absinth. The base note reveals a voluptuous warm fruity softness, with vibrant Musks of Almond and a Morello Cherry with accents of red fruit.

Key: Ultra-Feminine, enlightening, radiant.

Au Masculine
This was launched in 2000 and composed by Annick Menardo. Top notes are violet, ivy, basil, anise and licorice; middle notes are sandalwood, tonka bean and rum; base notes are vanilla, vetiver, cedar and praline.

Key: Light, warm, sweet

There are more perfumes by Lolita Lempicka, some being limited edition:

L`Eau au Masculin

Captures the strength and comfort of a man?

Au Masculin (2006)
More lemon/citrus version of first Au Masculin.

Minuet Noir
More potent version of 1997 Lolita Lempicka.

Caprice Violette
Limited edition original Lolita Lempicka with 3 other violet influenced scents: Caprice Violette, Caprice Reglisse (licorice and patchouli) and Caprice Amarena (almond and white musk).

Anyway, hygiene is also important so I bought versatile paper soap at perfume connection too. When public restrooms are poorly equipped, this will come in handy.

Really thin soap which smells more like caramelized sugar and vanilla.
Delicious :)
It was stored in a plastic flip container making it easy to carry around.

Also got the newest craze ~ tablet face masks!
You place the face mask tablet into the packet solution. It is suppose to blow up into a full size face mask and then you place onto your face. (Like that magic towel I tried)

You can buy them from morning glory too but only with the tablets. Then place tablet in your toner or a self made solution. But those DIY paper towel face masks with Michelle Pham are way cheaper.

The mask was quite really thin but the solution took ages to dry. This stuff was pretty good even though the solution was equivalent to the viscosity of toner.

Hope everyone has a new found appreciation for perfume!
Express yourself with Eau de Toilettes~ ~

Chinese New Year already passed...
and I just compiled my new year resolutions =/
Scrapped losing weight off the list and would rather get fat sitting around studying HEAPS because all my friends have EXCELLED in their chosen career paths. =( I'm proud and all but who doesn't hate being the under achieving friend talked about in whispers during reunions =/ ...

I also had a goal of saving a few ks before the holiday ends to pay off uni fees for this semester. Unfortunately, fees have risen by $18 per subject >=o . Not A LOT LOL but I'm on a shoestring budget here...

So instead of paying the whole amount this semester I'll only pay half and leave it for HECS.
YAY time to carelessly spend money and pay off debts later~

Au revoir!
